If the synchronizer assembly is not being removed, proceed to Installation Step 6. If removing the synchronizer assembly from the engine front cover, proceed with Removal Step 5. I bought the sensor with the synchronizer because I also noticed a new squeaking sound so I just figured I'd kill two birds with one stone and replace both the sensor & the synchro. I ran the codes and a couple codes for camshaft positioning sensor came up. I noticed last week that upon acceleration, my car started bucking and occasionally backfiring.
